Some of you have no doubt heard about the new anti-porn laws in the UK where anything dealing with suffocation or strangulation is now illegal. iWantClips published a list below of what’s now banned in the UK (and it doesn’t even list everything!) It would almost be funny if it wasn’t such an example of government overreach, with possible jail time of two years or longer for possessing this material. It’s one thing to impose age verification, which on the face of it I’ll admit sounds like it kinda makes sense\u2014I certainly don’t want minors looking at Trannies in Trouble! But the problem with age verification laws here in the States is that they are so cumbersome and poorly designed and almost impossible to enforce, something I’ve written about on this blog way too much. Utah’s requirement, for example, that website owners must know if a person from Utah accesses their site even if that person masks their IP address with a VPN was recently blocked by a judge<\/a> since it requires a “technical impossibility.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many website owners here just ignore the age verification requirements and take their chances with the laws, and those of us who do comply take a financial hit from all the users who understandably don’t want to deal with the hassle and move on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now in the UK they’ve taken it even further, banning specific kinds of porn. The possession and distribution of face-sitting videos, for example, are now illegal. My jaw dropped when I first read about this a few days ago. I’m surprised that bondage isn’t on the list, since hand-over-the-mouth scenes are also now illegal in the UK. I also like how they use the term possession<\/em>, as though it’s heroin or crack cocaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do wonder if here in the States we’ll see similar bans of specific genres of porn, though my naive self says, “Oh, they wouldn’t do that here.” But who knows? And while I don’t know much about the legal system in the UK it will be interesting to read about the inevitable challenges to the law that must surely be coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime social media has been ripe for some rich posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
