{"id":375,"date":"2007-12-20T16:19:50","date_gmt":"2007-12-21T00:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tranniesintrouble.com\/wordpress\/?p=375"},"modified":"2007-12-24T17:02:15","modified_gmt":"2007-12-25T01:02:15","slug":"salvador-dali-at-lacma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tranniesintrouble.com\/wordpress\/archives\/375","title":{"rendered":"Salvador Dali at LACMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My friend Kim and I went to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacma.org\/\">LACMA<\/a> today to see the Salvador Dali exhibit, which is just about to close, and it was awesome.  I&#8217;ve always liked his stuff and it was great to see many familiar paintings in real life.  I was amazed at how small so many of them were.  I expected them to be these huge murals but not so.  Even his most famous painting, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Persistence_of_Memory\">The Persistence of Memory<\/a> is pretty tiny, about 12 inches across.<\/p>\n<p>I also had one of those, &#8220;Oh, I get it!&#8221; moments reading the description of one of my favorites, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Metamorphosis_of_Narcissus\">The Metamorphosis of Narcissus<\/a>.&#8221;  I remember seeing this painting in art books when I was a kid and I never realized that it&#8217;s a human figure on the left &#8211; Narcissus &#8211; gazing at himself in the reflecting pool.  I always thought it was two human hands and that the one on the left was just a little blurry or something &#8211; Duh!  Oh well, it only took me 35 years to get it.  And hey, gazing at one&#8217;s reflection is something that we crossdressers do a lot of too &#8211; maybe that&#8217;s why I like it so much.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/tranniesintrouble.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/13\/metamorphosis.jpg\" title=\"\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/tranniesintrouble.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/13\/tn_metamorphosis.jpg\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"10\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My friend Kim and I went to LACMA today to see the Salvador Dali exhibit, which is just about to close, and it was awesome.
