Fire in Hollywood Hills

March 30th, 2007 at 2:17 pm (life in general, los angeles)

Hey, there’s a big fire going on near the Hollywood sign. I was wondering why it was so dark outside. Here’s a picture from down the street.

New TG Night in West Hollywood – Syren!

March 30th, 2007 at 9:03 am (life in general, los angeles)

We have a new Saturday night TG event opening tomorrow night, Saturday, March 31st, in West Hollywood! I’ll definitely be there and hope to see lots of friends. Thanks go to Wayne and Irv from WIT Productions, who quickly put this night together after a previous venue backed out at the last minute. Here’s the info. from Wayne…

I’m proud to announce the NEW location for SYREN! *drum roll* Syren! will debut at 9PM on Saturday, 31 March, 2007 at Tempest, 7323 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood (323) 850-5115, conveniently located between Fairfax Ave and LaBrea Ave at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Fuller Ave AND across the street from the Yukon Mining Company.

This venue is spacious, with plenty of booth seating, an ample air conditioned dance floor, excellent sound system and is capable of holding near 400 patrons. There is a smoking area/patio in front of the venue, with a very popular sidewalk seating arrangement like many of the top nightclubs in the area. Drink prices are the norm for the area, $5-$6 for beers, $6-$7 for mixed drinks. Valet parking MAY be available (that will be verified on Monday), and there is also street parking available on either side of the Yukon Mining Company and the parking lot across the street is also available, meaning no parking issues. I am confident that you will LOVE this venue and WIT Productions and the management of Tempest are looking forward to serving your needs and providing a safe, comfortable place for us to have a great time!

McCain Hacked

I love this story about John McCain’s MySpace page getting hacked. Funny stuff. Don’t go stealing no bandwidth, Senator.

Ma’amed by a Homeless Woman

March 28th, 2007 at 12:53 pm (life in general)

I was in boy mode driving through this parking lot the other evening around dusk and saw a lonely looking homeless woman over by the sidewalk with a cardboard sign. I sometimes give my spare change to the homeless (there are so many of them in L.A.) It’s not that I’m especially compassionate or religious or anything but I get this voice in my head saying, well, what if it was Jesus? I’d be the first to admit I probably do it because it makes me feel like I’m a “nice” person.

So anyway, I pulled over and she said, “Thank you, Ma’am.” Then immediately caught herself and seemed really embarrassed and said, “I’m sorry…Sir.” I smiled and said, “That’s Okay!” and drove off. I love when that happens – It really made my day.

The Eternal Struggle

March 26th, 2007 at 12:58 pm (life in general)

This is about as trivial as it gets, but it’s amazing how tasty the .99 cent double cheeseburger is at McDonalds. How can something so cheap taste so good? I try not to eat them very often because they’re total crap but whenever I do, it’s like slipping into a warm bath, and nearly as good as an orgasm. The whole world just disappears around me. The good side of me wants to eat salads and go running. And the devil side wants to eat cheeseburgers and chocolate shakes till I suffer a heart attack or stroke.

Bondage Workshop with Charly B

March 25th, 2007 at 8:52 pm (life in general)

I just wanted to re-post some information on what sounds like an exciting series of workshops with Charly B, who’s a master at doing suspension bondage. The workshops will be held at Passive Arts Studios close to LAX. I probably will only be able to attend a couple of these Sundays but I’m sure it’ll be a good class. Charly’s a really nice guy and extremely talented. Highly recommended.

For more information, check out the SoCalSMEvents Yahoo Group and look for the post titled “Learn Rope Bondage from an Expert.”

Good Bondage Workshop Today

March 25th, 2007 at 8:01 pm (life in general)

I had a really good time with the Rope Bondage Workshop earlier today. Some days I’ll find myself feeling awkward and clumsy, but today I was really in the zone and things seemed to flow very well. I did a presentation on decorative bondage, specifically the Japanese-style “tortoise shell harness” that makes those pretty diamond shapes, and also the rope corset and some artsy macrame things you can do with it. It was a nice change, not the style of bondage that I normally do, but it felt good, and people seemed engaged. I think there were about twelve or so people there, including quite a few new faces.

Been Listening To

March 23rd, 2007 at 4:02 pm (life in general, music, websites)

I was recently listening again to that William Shatner album, “Has Been,” that came out in 2004. The whole idea sounds like a ridiculous joke but it’s surprisingly really good stuff, pretty melancholy too. The high point is the song,”Common People” that he did with Joe Jackson. Damn, that thing really rocks!

Not a whole lot of fun but good for you

March 22nd, 2007 at 11:48 am (life in general)

I was reading this article on exercise and mental health in Newsweek and wondering about my own situation. I’ve been on anti-depressants for years, and they’ve done wonders, but I still have days when I’m feeling way more down than I like to admit. I’m grateful to have the meds, but it’s also a hassle to be taking them for years and years. And although I’m pretty good at exercising – mainly running and simple pilates mat exercises – I know I could do better. So I’m in one of those, “Hmm, what could I do to improve things?” kinds of moods.

The Server’s Gettin’ a Little Warm

March 21st, 2007 at 10:05 pm (blogs, life in general, websites)

I guess if you want to get some extra hits on your blog all you have to do is post controversial billboard pictures. This blog alone is clocking in at about 5 gigabytes a day. But that’s okay, it’s kind of cool. And my webhost is awesome.

More Creepy “Captivity” Images

March 20th, 2007 at 9:58 am (life in general, movies)

I’ve noticed a few bloggers requesting images of the “Captivity” billboards that were recently taken down in L.A., so in the interests of contributing to the ongoing brouhaha, here are a few more pictures.

Here’s a poster, also quite disturbing and kind of artsy:

And something with duct tape:

Last Friday’s Club Fantasy Party

March 19th, 2007 at 6:19 pm (life in general)

By the way, the Club Fantasy party last Friday was excellent. I got to play with a couple of lovely friends and ended up in a nice pole tie in the “garage” room. A few other regulars, and a friend whom I hadn’t seen in a long time, showed up too and provided a nice audience.

Next month’s party is going to be moved forward one week, due to a prior event at the Clubhouse, so mark your calendar for April 27th for the next one.

Creepy “Captivity” Billboard

March 19th, 2007 at 6:09 pm (life in general, movies)

I was out the other day and saw the billboard for this new movie “Captivity,” and thought, “Wow, that is really sick.” It was located right across the street from an elementary school, believe it or not. And later I saw another one at a city bus shelter.

Now I enjoy a good horror movie, but even I thought it was a bit much to have such a gruesome image inflicted on everyone who goes by, including children. I know if I were eight years old and saw this, I’d be thoroughly traumatized by it.

And I just heard on the evening news that there have been so many complaints about the ads here in L.A., that the studio has decided to take all the billboards down. It makes you wonder if it wasn’t just a very successful publicity stunt. They’ve gotten all kinds of attention for their movie, which is what you want.

The big question: Does it have any good bondage in it? I saw the trailer for it and it looks like it might have one or two tame moments – maybe hand gagging and wrists tied together. But of course, who knows? Early reviews seem to say that it’s pretty bad and basically a rip off of the “Saw” movies. Will I go see it? Well, yeah, I probably will – but I’ll wait till it comes out on DVD.

Primetime Bondage on “Las Vegas” TV show

March 19th, 2007 at 12:29 pm (life in general, television)

A friend recently wrote me about a good bondage scene from the season finale of “Las Vegas,” the TV show. Vanessa Marcil’s character Sam ends up bound and gagged with duct tape and locked in a small trunk. My friend mentioned how disturbing he found the scene, as she really is quite helpless inside the trunk and actually ends up being whisked off to the airport and some unknown fate.

I was sorry I missed it, but, pervert that I am, I did a little Google search and came up with just the thing. You can actually download episodes of the show as Windows Media files from links on the following pages. Enjoy them while they’re there.

Episode 16 (begins in “Part 4”)

Season Finale (continues through episode, especially in “Part 3”)

Just came across this interesting word…

Merinthophobia: The fear of being bound or tied up.

The Rebecca H. Heels Treatment Once Again

March 14th, 2007 at 1:38 pm (life in general)

It’s been forever since I’ve seen Rebecca H. Heels, but finally this last weekend we were able to work out our schedules and I headed down to Orange County for a little visit. She always does me up in the most over the top kind of look, and she put me into some inescapable leather strap bondage while she teased me and clicked away with her camera. Here’s a couple of preview shots. I’ll put the full set up on Ts in Trouble late Thursday night for this week’s update.

This Friday’s Club Fantasy Party

March 12th, 2007 at 8:41 pm (life in general)

This month’s Club Fantasy party is coming up quick: Friday, March 16th, from 8 till midnight in N. Hollywood, CA. We’re planning a little snack food “potluck” before, so if you can bring something to share that would be great (though of course no one’s going to be turned away.) So come on out for a night of socializing and, who knows, maybe get tied up. Proceeds benefit Threshold.

Whew, now I can sleep at night…

A friend sent me this link for this funny parody site on terrorism preparedness. Good stuff. There’s also the real “Ready America” site from the good folks at the Office of Homeland Security. They’ve got us covered.

Also those great airline safety cards from Fight Club:

Thought for the Evening

March 8th, 2007 at 10:25 pm (life in general)

In a computer related Google search I came across an article with the title, “This is the hand we have been dealt,” and it really struck me as perfect. It sums up everything in life, the good and the bad. Sexuality, gender, race, socio-economic status, luck, talents (or lack of). This is it.

Elmer Fudd on Google

March 8th, 2007 at 11:00 am (life in general, websites)

Those crazy folks at Google! I just noticed that you can change your language settings on Google to, among other things, Klingon, Pig Latin and Elmer Fudd.
