Rest in Peace, Reb Stout

For anyone who might have missed the sad news of Reb Stout’s (aka Rebecca H. Heels) recent death, I just wanted to post a late notice here. There were a few posts earlier in my Yahoo Group but I’ve since heard from a few people during the last month who hadn’t heard the news. He had been fighting lung cancer and diabetes for some time and finally passed away last month, on November 7th.

He was an inspiration to thousands of us, living his life openly and honestly and just out there going for it. When I first met him, he had retired from his Rebecca H. Heels persona, but he was a very talented photographer and a total wild man. I remember when I first met him I thought, “This guy is crazy!” but he quickly grew on me and I was very fond of him. And shooting pictures with him was always a blast! We’ll miss you, Reb!

My friend lee put up a page on her tribe.net site, quoting a few of my earlier posts.

And here’s Reb’s main website, devoted to Rebecca H. Heels and all her kinky friends. A true free spirit and a one of a kind.

  1. Well, I’ll be damned. I didn’t know Reb had passed. I remember this guy fondly. Indeed, he was a character. I met him at the fetish shop in Tustin, Versatile Fashion… back in ’94, I think. He was instrumental in the production of Mistress Antoinette’s big kink fetish party, “Dressed to Thrill”. I flew in from Atlanta, rented a car and stopped by the store just to see it. Reb couldn’t have been more cordial. Damn, that seems like only yesterday. Where has the time gone?

Yep, he was an original. Followed his heart. Left his mark. What more can you say about living? RIP Reb.

  2. This was the worst news I ever heard! Reb Stout was like a uncle to me he always had time to listen even when he was sick , I’m glad I stayed with him and had the chance to get to know him . I will miss you Rebel Stout!

  3. I was checking out some flickr photos and saw Rebecca High Heels and thought about Reb. I knew Reb for quite some time and would visit everytime I was in SO Cal. Back in the day…we would shoot some hoops or just hang out while Reb was watching TV (television) a sporting event (usually the Lakers), dubbing/editing videos, scanning photos or anything else to multi-task. Reb was very unique and we were great friends. I recall helping with some shoots and being involved in front of the camera also. Reb was also an avid model train collector and had a huge multi-track set-up in the main area of the house. Unfortunatley Reb didn’t get much of a chance to enjoy his Corvette at the end. Last time I was there was about a year before he passed…it was tough to see him struggle near the end. I really miss his sarcastic mannerisms and quick wit. He truly was a great guy….RIP Reb

  4. Rebecca hell on heels will never die she inspires the under cover work of searching for a killer of blondes . That has resulted in the true story in the unsolved murder of beth ellen vinson in Raleigh n.c. the book Limo For A Killer where ive attempted to pose out the killer as Rebecca heels coming out soon love to share it with you….

  5. Was friends with Reb for a few years. I went to a lot of train shows with him and some very interesting parties. Helped feed that ugly fish & went to get his last dog. Shot a few hoops with the “lakers” ball and hung a few of the pictures. Yep he is really missed, but every day when I turn on the light switch I remember him, I’m the one who got the light switch of the guy standing with his pants down.

  6. Well, this came as a shock and a surprise. I knew Reb when he worked at Western Union in Santa Ana. I knew he had a kinky side, but didn’t know much about that. Remember him talking about Mistress Antoinette, and I believe he introduced me to her once. Went on some totally non kinky photo shoots, and knew he was into porn video, but knew nothing about the other persona. Hadn’t been in touch since Western Union closed their office in Santa Ana. Didn’t know of his illness and just learned of his passing. I’m sorry I didn’t have the privilege of sharing more of his life. I’m gay, and wasn’t out at work, though I’m sure he knew about that. Strange he didn’t share his other person with me. Oh well, perhaps he only shared with a few close friends. Ships that pass in the night. Maybe we’ll meet up again in another part of this journey that is life. RIP, Reb.

  7. Thanks for posting and sharing your memories, Roy…I’m sure it must be a bit of shock indeed learning more about Reb. Hope you’ll meet up again as you say…Sandra

  9. I know it has been quite some time since Reb has passed. I keep in touch with Mistress Antoinette living in Colorado. Would anyone knw who might still have copies of the videos that R

  10. Reb helped make for Versatile Productions. I had so many back in the day and they have mostly gone missing. Reb would make me copies on DVD’s before his passing. Thanks so much for any and all guidance.

  11. In the late ’90s/early 2000s, I contacted Reb about possibly printing some of my art in one of the fetish magazines he was working on at the time. Unfortunately, that never happened due to the Internet’s effect on print media, but he encouraged me and I sent him artwork for his website(s). The problem is that I didn’t have access to the ‘net at the time, and by the time I did, Reb was gone, and so were his sites (at least, apparently). He truly supported me and my art. I wish I could have met him
