In the “spoiling the fun for the rest of us” department, a friend sent me the link to this news story about a guy who was allowed to fly wearing women’s panties and a ridiculously skimpy outfit (check out the link above for the picture – it’s priceless!) Hey, I like people who push the envelope and cause trouble, but even I’d be royally embarrassed if I were sitting next to this guy. It’d be one of those, “Uhm, excuse me but what are you doing?” moments. Perhaps a nice pinstriped suit would have been a better choice. At the very least, the fashion police could have been summoned. It’s ironic too – the article mentions the college football player who was arrested just days before for wearing overly-revealing baggy pants also in the San Francisco airport, though apparently he was reportedly exposing himself whereas the guy in the panties was nicely covered up. What more can one say?
i just got through reading that myself. i was really surprised he got away with it too. i had always wondered if a TV could fly the airlines en femme. However, this guy wasn’t wearing a wig or makeup. Would it have been more trouble for one of us in full make-up, heels, blouse and skirt, simply because our appearance does not match our photo ID? It’s an interesting question. As far as the athlete who was sagging, the airline explained it by saying that he was booted by the pilot for refusing repeated orders to pull up his pants, whereas the guy in women’s underwear evidently complied with any requests the captain or crew made.
They said that’s the name of the game. Whatever the captain says on the airline goes. If you refuse his orders, then he has the right to boot you.
You can fly en-femme. There are actual DOHS regulations permitting it. Look them up on Google. Some organization or another brought it up, and made sure the ability to do so was permitted by Homeland Security.
Though it’s more hassle free if you picture does match your appearance at boarding.
You can also get your driver’s license picture taken en-femme in most states. The M will not be an F, without a doctor’s order, but you can be pictured as you present yourself at the time of applying for or renewing your license.
I have had more trouble trying to get on a plane in boy-mode with my ID picture being female, than I have had trying to get on a plane en-femme with my female ID picture.
It’s not what you look like that concerns them, but rather being sure you are who you say you are.
